In a video making rounds, Akoo Nana claims the current Board Chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO)- Rex Omar does not have the right to be disrespectful towards the President especially on radio.

He went on to say Rex Omar is a failed leader who is hypocritical considering that he is allegedly doing what he is accusing the President of doing.

Akoo Nana alleges that Rex Omar has misappropriated a huge amount of funds and he (Rex) has to be investigated.

To support his case, he alleges that before Omar bagged the GAMRO position, he was using a Renault Clio but now Omar owns a fleet of cars. Omar’s purchases within the short period need to be questioned according to Akoo Nana.

He also disclosed that GAMRO expenses are much more than the royalties they are paying to Ghanaian musicians.

The ‘Amponsah’ composer said Rex Omar’s claim that he is not taking a salary is not true. According to him, Rex Omar takes a salary and receives other incentives.

Akoo Nana further called on Ghanaian authorities to audit GAMRO and Rex Omar’s administration.
