Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan is set to join Indian Super League side NorthEast United for their upcoming season, according to sources.

The Ghanaian forward is available on a free transfer after seeing out his contract at Turkish Super Lig side Kayserispor.

According to sources, talks between the Indian club and Gyan’s representatives are advanced and the deal could be announced really soon.

Gyan made 26 appearances for the Turkish side Kayserispor where he found the net five (5) times.

The former Sunderland and Shanghai SIPG striker has been lined-up to replace Nigerian, Bartholomew Owogbalor Ogbeche who was top scorer at the Indian club with 12 goals for last season.

The 2019/20 Indian Super League starts on 20 October, 2019 but NorthEast United will be in action on Monday against defending champions Bengaluru.
