During lifestyle changes, some people may choose to go on a dietary change also. The new diet may be to lose some weight in time for an event or maybe because their doctor recommended it.

One major food group that is constantly affected is Carbohydrates. Carbs have had a bad rep over the years with those found in items like bread and pizzas taking the most of the blame.

In basic school, we were taught that the The primary source of energy for fueling all exercises like endurance and resistance training, is carbohydrates. So your energy will go low if you cut down on carbs. One’s ability to produce force and power will decrease if the stored carbohydrates in your body decrease.

2. You Get Really Moody. 😖

Carbs increase the levels of the feel-good neurotransmitter serotonin in the brain.

The feeling can get very addictive and as such cutting out that warm morning bread may make you very gloomy.

 

3. You get into a situation… You can’t take a poop. 💩

Whole grains are a great source of vitamin B, iron and magnesium, which are critical in maintaining energy levels. Without a healthy supply of magnesium, cells slow down and energy sources deplete quickly.

I know how exciting losing weight can be. However, cutting out carbs may only cause you to lose water weight and not as much fat. This is because we start using the stored glycogen which is formed by carbohydrates, which helps us lose water weight.
