More sad news for the Bryant family and fans of the Mamba alike,Kobe’s daughter Gianna Maria Onore – aka GiGi -is also reported to have been on board the helicopter and died in the crash which also killed her father and at least two others. She was 13.
Reports indicate that the entourage was on their way to the Mamba Academy for a basketball practice when the crash occurred. The Academy is in nearby Thousand Oaks.

Kobe was traveling with at least 3 other people in his private helicopter when it went down. A fire broke out. Emergency personnel responded, but nobody on board survived. 5 people are confirmed dead. We’re told his wife Vanessa Bryant was not among those on board.
At 12:49 PM PT , President Trump tweeted about Kobe’s death saying, “Reports are that basketball great Kobe Bryant and three others have been killed in a helicopter crash in California. That is terrible news!”
Also Rick Fox friend of Kobe has not died in the helicopter crash with his former Lakers teammate Kobe Bryant.
After Kobe‘s death was reported on Sunday (January 26), rumors surfaced that Rick was one of the five people on board who passed away. Rick Fox’s attorney confirms the former Laker was NOT among those on board the helicopter, despite rumors that circulated suggesting he was.
NBA sports reporter Jared Greenberg has tweeted that Rick was not actually on board.
“I have personally communicated with Rick Fox via text since the news about Kobe dying came out PLEASE STOP spreading ‘news’ unless you personally can confirm it!” he wrote.
