Real Madrid last night were crowned champions of the Spanish top flight league for the 34th time with a game in hand after beating Villareal 2-1 at home with a brace from in-form striker, Karim Benzema. The ‘whites’ who have been unbeaten in all games since the league’s return from the covid break needed just a point to clinch the title from former champions, Barcelona who unfortunately lost at home to Osasuna.

The return of Zinedine Zidane as head coach changed things around for the team who had a season to forget in the 2018/2019 campaign.

Key players in Real Madrid’s success this season have been Sergio Ramos, Karim Benzema and Thibaut Courtois amongst others who are also vying for individual honours in the league.

Hopefully, the newly crowned champions will be pumped up to overturn a goal deficit against Manchester City in the UEFA champions league quarter final return leg in August.

Till then Halla Madrid!
