The Premier League after 100 days in the cold due to the global pandemic COVID-19, resumed yesterday with two outstanding played.
Relegation threatened Aston Villa hosting Sheffield United and the big game of the day happening at the Etihad Stadium as 2nd placed Manchester City played Arsenal.
With points shared at Villa Park although Sheffield United deserved all 3 points, the attention switched to the big game of the day as former apprentice of Pep Guardiola, now manager of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta and his lads took on Manchester City and it was the latter who came out on top with a deserving win as they beat the Gunners by 3 goals to nil.
Raheem Sterling opened the scoring after substitute David Luiz appeared to have fluffed the ball which fell on the path of the English forward and he volleyed it home.
David Luiz was at fault again when he gave out a penalty after he brought down Riyad Mahrez in the box and was shown a straight red card by referee Anthony Taylor.
City added a third through substitute Phil Foden after he was at the right place at the right to finish off a rebound from Sergio Aguero’s effort which hit the post.
Most Arsenal fans after the game were unhappy with some calling for the termination of his contract with some wanting the Brazilian defender rot on the bench.
We gathered some few tweets from some raging Arsenal fans:
David Luiz was so bad last night I’m starting to feel bad for even making fun of it…
