Spanish La Liga gaints, FC Barcelona have appointed Dutch coach Ronald Koeman as their new manager after the sacking of Quique Setién on Saturday.
According to reports, the former Holland and Barcelona defender will leave his role as coach of the Holland National team and takeover the role at Barca.
Coach Quique Setién was sacked after Barcelona were thrashed by Bayer Munich in the Uefa Champions League semi-final on Friday with club president, Bartomeu confirming the decision over the weekend.
Four coaches were initially shortlisted to replace the Spanish with Xavi Hernandez ruled himself out as he committed his future as manager of Qatar Stars League football club Al Sadd.
Mauricio Pochettino, Masimilliano Allegri and Ronald Koeman were left in the running to takeover affairs at the Nou Camp.
The appointment of Koeman comes as no surprise the Catalan club as shown in the past like to appoint coaches who are familiar with the club’s culture and style of play.
Popular Sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the appointment and stated that the deal will be made official this week.
