The Lebanese patient who was among those confirmed earlier to have contracted COVID-19 in Ghana has been reported dead.
The deceased is reported to be a 61-year-old man. Reports indicate that he had reported to a health facility in Kumasi with a fever and cough and body temperature at 39.4 degrees celcius.
At this moment, there is no evidence that the man died from his positive test of COVID-19.
Deputy Minister of Health, Alexander Abban, told Citi News that
“the information I got from the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service is that that person [the Lebanese man] has died. He died today.”
There have been 21 cases confirmed so far and three of these are suspected to be community spread.
