Elena Rukhlyada a silver medalist runner & the ex-wife of Yaroslav Fokin has narrated how Fokin kidnapped her at knife-point and stuffed her inside a blue sports bag before dragging her off into a forest for what he called “romantic date”.
Fokin a former special forces officer calmly wheeled Elena out of her flat out to the car park before he drove out to a remote forest, where he then released her and gave her a bouquet of flowers to commence their “date”.
Elena says she tried to chew the tape to release herself but she came to understand that there was no way she could escape. She also said she thought that was the end for her.
Police later found the Elena unharmed in the forest after she was reported missing. Fokin was then arrested and later found guilty of kidnapping by a District Court. The crazy ex is currently serving a four-and-a-half year sentence in a maximum-security prison in Russia.
Speaking to Russian paper Komsomolskaya Pravda, Elena said:
“I was very scared at that moment because about a month before he had got mad and told me ‘I’ll kill you. Slowly.’ That’s why I decided to not fight back. He always tried to limit me, in all terms.
Elena is worried about what will happen when Fokin leaves prison and said:
“I will do everything possible to minimise contact with him. I want to appeal to the state to provide me with protection after he is freed.
“I don’t need any money or alimony from him. I want to think that he simply doesn’t exist. It’s scary when you can’t even freely walk outside your house without someone watching you.”
