Few days ago, Mrs. Ursula Owusu Ekuful, the Minister of Communications asked mobile network operators (MNO) in Ghana to make changes which would be the answer to the prayers of many Ghanaians.
According to the Minister, mobile networks are to refrain from enabling all unused data and voice bundles purchased by their subscribers from expiring.

Unfortunately, the Ghanaian Telcos have refused to heed to the words of the Minister. Their actions have caused Ghanaians to rally together to boycott their appalling services.

The concerned users have likened the companies to ‘scammers’. Others have expressed their dismay over how the Telcos reportedly rollover subscriptions in other countries but not the Sub-region.
For those who think it’s not possible these same telcos are doing it in US ,UK, Germany, Australia and Singapore. They can easily #RollOverUnusedData

The boycott with the hashtag #RollOverUnusedData is actively being spearheaded by Bridget Otoo on Twitter. According to her, once the paying customer has purchased a package, there is no need for it to expire especially within a stipulated time created by the vendors.
It doesn’t make sense, that you would use you 300cedis to buy 100gig of data. Use 30 gig and your telco says because you didn’t use it within 30days you’ve lost your data !!#RollOverUnusedData
