Ejisu SHTS student hospitalised after failed suicide attempt

Reports indicate that a second-year student of the Ejisu Secondary Technical Senior High School has been hospitalised after drinking liquid soap in what is believed to be a suicide attempt.

According to school authorities, the now hospitalised student and a friend were accosted by a taxi driver who witnessed the students in possession of the school’s electric stabiliser climbing the wall of the school.

The assistant headmaster Kofi Appiah later kept the two students locked up in his office overnight. He also made them strip down to just their underwear since they were not providing him with the information he required.

Shouts by the other student from inside the office attracted attention off others who eventually found the victim foaming from the mouth. The assistant headmaster was then called and the student was rushed to the hospital.

Speaking on why he locked the boys up, Kofi Appiah claimed since the management of the school was not around because of how late it was, he decided that keeping them in his office till the very next day was the best option. he also said he did not want to make any judgement on the issue since the Headmistress was also not available.

The student is currently receiving treatment at the Ejisu Government Hospital. School authorities have also reported the incident to the police.
