Gas explosion at Ablekuma kills whole family

The officer, Inspector Abban was reportedly preparing her family’s meal when the incident happened.

In an interview with Adom FM, the Inspector’s sister narrated the event. Sarah said the family had just got back from church and their mother, Kate was preparing food when the gas cylinder suddenly exploded.

Siblongs, Ebenezer Abban and Joyce Abban, also sustained grave injuries as they were in the kitchen when the explosion happened. They later lost their lives at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

Student at the Ghana Telecom University, 21-year-old, Emmanuel Agyei also had severe injuries when he tried his best to rescue his mother and siblings.

According to Sarah’s report, Emmanuel and Joyce died on Sunday, January 12, 2020.
