James Oppong Boanuh the Ag. Inspector General of Police confirmed the results of a DNA test on retrieved remains from the property of a suspect at a press conference Monday. Sadly, the remains have been found to belong to Priscilla Blessing Bentum, Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, Ruth Love Quayson & Ruth Abeka.
The kidnappings took place over a period of 5 months (July-December). The suspects allegedly run a kidnapping organisation.
Statements made by the IGP have not made things any easier. According to him, the suspects will not be able to run their kidnapping business now that they are in the hands of the police, the same hands 28 year old Nigerian, Samuel Wills slipped out off. Ghanaians lost faith in the Police Service after it was revealed the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service, COP Maame Tiwaa Addo Danquah blatantly lied to the populace. She explained that she released the statement about the Ghana Police Service knowing the whereabouts of the girls to give the families of the missing girls hope.
Suspects in the case
Samuel Udoetuk Wills was re-arrested in Nkroful, and sentenced to 18 months in prison. John Orji was arrested at the Aflao border. The other suspect known as Chika, was arrested in Nigeria in relation with the then missing girls’ case.
Facebook chats between John and Samuel included discussions about drugs to be given to the victims. Investigators also found messages pointing towards blood sacrifice, the main suspicion of many concerned citizens. John denies knowing about any scheme to kidnap and/or murder.
Other details.
Even though the remains have been confirmed as being those of the missing girls, their estimated time of death and cause of death have not been made public.
