The Ghanaian Twittersphere is buzzing again about services from local telecommunications service providers.
The hashtag #ReduceInternetPrices has almost 7,000 tweets and is the number one trending topic. Ghanaian telcos are once again at loggerheads with their subscribers. The subscribers are calling for a reduction of their data charges.
The subscribers of the three major telcos MTN, Vodafone, and AirtelTigo are receiving a substantial bashing on the internet. According to their users, the rate at which their data bundles disappear is very alarming.
This comes some few months after telcos in the country were required to provide services which did not expire.

I can't get over the fact that a top 2 telco CEO in Ghana was actually on radio saying that they are maintaining prices because reducing data cost would cause a surge in usage and thereby slow Internet speed. Imagine????
Thats balderdash.#ReduceInternetPrices pic.twitter.com/UU0lNCu5om
