Ghanaians to enjoy free water supply and electricity

Ghanaians are in a jubilant mood after an announcement by the Finance Minister, Hon. Ken Ofori-Atta.  During the presentation of the mid-year budget to Parliament, Hon. Ken announced that Ghanaians will soon enjoy three additional months of free water and electricity supply.

The joy of free water supply will be enjoyed by all consumers while the free electricity package will also be enjoyed by lifeline consumers.

This means Ghanaian utility consumers will benefit from six months of subsidised utility charges as they face the challenges arising from the onset of COVID-19.

While in Parliament he said:

Mr Speaker, we wish to take this opportunity to announce to the people of Ghana that the President and his team have done a lot of thinking since March and brainstormed over the crisis, with the view of using the challenges it presents, rather as an opportunity to transform Ghana and for all Ghanaians.
