Japan legend Keisuke Honda has begged Manchester United to offer him a contract in a tweet sent to the club’s Twitter account.
Honda is out of contract and on the look out for a new club after leaving A-League side Melbourne Victory in July.
The 33-year-old has set his sights high and even hinted he would be willing to play for free in a tweet he posted on Friday.
He said: ‘Give me an offer,’ he said. ‘I don’t need money but I need to play with great team and great team mate.’

Honda has never previously played in England but has a rich European pedigree having played nearly 200 games for CSKA Moscow and AC Milan.
The former Japan international is a legend in his homeland after scoring 37 goals in 98 appearances for his country before retiring from international football in 2018.
While it remains highly unlikely United will take Honda up on his offer, the club are in need of attacking reinforcements following a spate of injuries.
Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba are all currently out injured, leaving United short of options following the sales of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be forced to start 17-year-old Mason Greenwood upfront against Arsenal on Monday after he scored twice in consecutive starts against Astana and Rochdale.
Jesse Lingard, who normally operates as an attacking midfielder, is United’s only other option in the central striking role.
