I lied about my relationship – MzVee

Popular Ghanaian songstress MzVee, in an interview with Joy FM’s George Quaye made some interesting statements about her love life, music and social media.

MzVee has embarked on a radio tour in an effort to promote her new song Sheriff and her soon to be released album. This album will be the first since she split up with Lynx Entertainment.

In the interview, MzVee disclosed how lonely she felt in the entertainment industry. She made mention of how her work became more consuming than her family which unfortunately separated her from them.

SPLIT FROM LYNXX ENTERTAINMENT

The interview moved on to her career decision to split from Richie Mensah’s Lynxx Entertainment. According to MzVee, she didn’t just leave Lynx, she also abandoned music. This decision was apparently influenced by her depression.

She also brought the record straight concerning the rumors that she left Lynx due to the amount of attention Kuami Eugene and Kidi were receiving.

She insisted that, the two artistes needed much more attention and guidance than she did at her level.

“When you are new in the industry you need so much work but after a while…things worked out for themselves”

She went on to say “I was happy when the boys came on board because when I started Lynx I was in a girl band D3 and then at a point it was just me. It was pretty boring… But now the boys came on board and it was fun.”

DEPRESSION  & PERSONAL LIFE

MzVee also touched on the bouts of depression she felt before her music hiatus. Answering the question of how a musician with inspirational songs could get depressed, she said “that person is human too”.

She admitted that she did have a boyfriend when she was signed on to Lynx Entertainment but had to lie about it since she wanted to keep it private. That relationship ended during her ‘low moments’.

The songstress left her then boyfriend due to her confusion about how she was feeling. She also acknowledged all those who were able to make things clearer to her.

Talking about her new song, she says Sheriff is for the woman who feels trapped and feels she has no other options. This woman has the power to be the Sheriff of her life and take control.

She promises her fans a spectacular 2020 full of new projects and collaborations.
