FC Barcelona and Argentina forward, Lionel Messi has issued a statement regarding his want away move from the Nou Camp.
His father, Jorge Messi who also represents the player as his agent met with Barcelona officials this week to settle issues regarding Lionel Messi wanting to leave the club on a free transfer.
Barcelona and La Liga issued a statement earlier claiming that his contract with the club still has a buyout clause of about 700 million euros if any club wanted to sign him.
Jorge and Lionel Messi are denying the existence of a €700m release clause and Messi wants to leave for free. Barça are refusing to accept this position and are still holding onto the clause in his contract which was supposed to have expired on June 10.
“We do not know which contract they [Liga] have analysed, and which are the bases on which they conclude that it would have a termination clause “applicable in the event that the player decides to urge the unilateral termination of the same”
“This one about the €700m release clause must be an error on the part of La Liga”.
