Man United visit Newcastle as Southampton host Lampard’s Chelsea.

The English Premier League enters into Matchday 8 before the international break and as usual there are some tasty fixtures this weekend.

Tottenham Hotspurs who were battered on their own turf by Bayern Munich travel to the Amex Stadium and face Brighton & Hove Albion. Spurs have been struggling this season and a much needed win will not only boost their confidence but also put their title ambitions back on track.

Red-hot Liverpool will host Leicester City in a match that has been dubbed “The Return of Brendan Rodgers”. Rodgers will look to set a record by being the first side to not only beat Liverpool but also on their own turf. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp expects Brendan Rodgers will receive a good reception when he returns to Anfield as Leicester City boss in the Premier League.

A lot of the tough and dicey games are on Sunday where Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City welcome Espirito Santo’s ‘stubborn’ Wolves side at the Etihad Stadium. Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne has been ruled out after missing the midweek Champions League win with a groin injury, although the problem is not thought to be serious.

Chelsea will be looking to win back to back for the first time in the Premier League this season when they travel to face Ralph Hasenhüttl’s Southampton side at the St. Mary’s Stadium. Lampard says N’Golo Kante, who returned from injury in midweek against Lille, will be monitored as a precaution but is also available to play on Sunday. Southampton have won only two of their last 20 Premier League meetings with Chelsea (D6, L12) and are winless in the last seven.

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce has called for a big response from his side as they host Manchester United following their heavy loss at Leicester last weekend. United have their own troubles as they have failed to win an away game in ten outings under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: “We’re not in the 90s now so it’s a different era, a different group that we’re building.

“We know there are going to be ups and downs. I’m ready to see these boys blossom.
