UG Vice Chancellor denies sexual harassment allegations
Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof Ebenezer Owusu is fighting off allegations of sexual harassment made against him by the CEO of Africa Integras, Andrea Pizziconi.
He told Joy News on Thursday that her allegations are frivolous.
According to the Vice Chancellor, Andrea Pizziconi is bitter because he put her contract with the country’s premier university on hold.
“You just have to treat this with the contempt that it deserves…personally, I will describe her as somebody who is bitter and extremely angry,” he said.
Prof Oduro Owusu said she is full of anger and frustrated because she intended to invest $64 million and make a return of $25 million every year from UG for the next 25 years. However, the deal suffered a setback as it was put on hold.
In a tweet, Andrea Pizziconi alleged that the BBC Africa Eye’s ‘Sex for grade’ documentary which implicated two lecturers of the university for sexually harassing students resonates deeply with her.

Stay away from emergency contraceptives – Youth advised
The youth have been cautioned against the use of emergency contraceptives as they were not designed to be used on regular basis and their abuse could be detrimental to one’s health.
Mr Michael Tagoe, the Youth Programme Officer of the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG), for the Western and Central Regions, expressed worry that the misuse of contraceptives was high among the youth and could have dire consequences to their reproductive system.
He was addressing some members of faith-based youth groups at a capacity building workshop on “Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR),” at Twifo Hemang in the Central Region.
Mr Tagoe said the youth must be educated on their reproductive sexuality and its related issues to equip them with knowledge, which would also help in reducing sexually transmitted infections.
