The Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyeama, has finally reacted to viral videos showing shops run by Nigerian traders in Ghana being locked up by the Ghanaian authorities.
In an early morning tweet, Onyeama indicated that the government has watched the viral videos and urgent steps will be taken to address the pain of the Nigerian traders.
”Nigerian Government has watched with dismay the painful videos of the forceful closure of the shops of Nigerian traders in #Ghana. Urgent steps will be taken.”
In an earlier article by Dizropt, we reported that Nigerian traders were complaining bitterly as their shops were shut down for failing to pay the necessary foreign equity and registration fees to the Ghana Investment Promotion Council (GIPC).
Nigerians in Ghana and abroad took to social media to condemn the actions of the Ghanaian authorities, accusing them of making life unbearable for Nigerians residing in the country.
