One Chance -Theft by Hypnotism

Akua Dinero, a Ghanaian Twitter User, shared a troubling experience that happened to her recently. According to her, on Friday (27th September, 2019), she made her way to Okpongolo. She was on her way to send money to at the Ghana Commercial Bank opposite the University of Ghana campus.

She said she cannot recollect the events that followed after she tried crossing the dangerous Okpongolo road.
In her Twitter posts, she also said she has,
little recollection of what happened in the next hour in fact I have little recollection of my entire Saturday.
I woke up on Sunday not sure what had happened only to see messages and calls from my family and the people I was to send the money to…
Akua also does not recall giving the money to anyone. Later in the day, she found herself in her room and fell asleep. Currently, she has no memory of how she got back to her room and feels “a strange sensation” when she tries to retrace her steps to find out how she lost over GH¢5000.

Apparently,  Akua is not alone. Other Twitter users responded to her posts and replied with various accounts of similar stories. One tweet made mention of how this scenario happens every week at Okpongolo.
Other comments made mention of “black magic” and hypnotism- a situation where the alleged thieves get their victims to focus on one thing which puts them in a zombie-like state
Reports of thefts by hypnotism has also left others in constant fear of being approached by strangers who claim they need help.
