Takoradi Girls: Families finally allowed to view remains (Video)

Representatives of the Ghana Police Service on Thursday, October 24, 2019, provided the families of the three Takoradi girls access to the Police Morgue to view and identify the supposed remains.

Joy News reported on the events at the scene at the police hospital. Priscilla Bentum’s mother of wept uncontrollably and took breaks in between her wails to rain curses on the police who she blames for the death of her daughter.

The irate mother also questioned the Police on their failure to prosecute the suspects several months after their initial arrests.

The families of the deceased girls apparently rejected the remains presented by the police. According to the families, the  belongings presented to them did not belong to their daughters.

DISCUSSIONS ABOUT SECOND DNA TEST.

The families were directed to the morgue after discussions with the Inspector General of Police, James Oppong-Boanuh at the police headquarters in Accra.

The families  discussed their intentions to have to access to the remains of the girls. This would enable them perform a private DNA test which would provide details about who the remains really belong to.

The IGP unfortunately declined the request. The IGP said it was impossible without a court order saying so.
