You’d be surprised how many celebrities have more than the one job or thing they are known for to supplement their finances. *sidenote* not every celebrity is sitting on a pile of money like Rumpelstiltskin. For the most part, anytime a celebrities’s star kinda dims, we are quick to say their career is over. Interestingly, some just take a slight step back to focus on other ways of securing the bag including setting up businesses or concentrating on their regular-shmegular 8-5 jobs. Here are 5 Ghanaian Divas making it rain!
Sandra Ankobiah
Ghanaian lawyers are infamously known to be drab dressers but not fashionista Sandra Ankobiah.
The lawyer is not known for her legal practice as much as her fast and seemingly sweet life. Swiping through her socials, it is apparent that she’s a sucker for luxury and extravagance.
We heard through the grapevine (and sorta confirmed) that she is also the C.E.O of Emerald Energy Ghana an “oilfields support service company” (whatever that means) that provide onshore and offshore services for clients.
Salma Mumin
I will be honest, I have never seen a film or even a movie trailer about anything actress Salma Mumin has starred in but the fact that she is in my list could mean she is probably doing something right.
The actor, film maker, ambassador, influencer, Entrepreneur & Management company owner has also set up a restaurant – Salma’s Eatery and has made moves in the fashion industry by establishing a clothing line- LURE.
Her entrepreneurial bag is definitely ching-ching from her LURE and Salma’s Eatery businesses. She recently scored a hosting gig for TV3’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful.
sidenote: she’s also bestbuds with Sandra Ankobiah. It’s alleged that they both have a BBL experience which has resulted in perkier glutes.
Luckie Lawson
Ever been to Mango Ase restaurant in East Legon? Well, the wonderful establishment is owned by the actress and producer Luckie Lawson.
Before others realised side hustles were a thing, Luckie here had already slipped and dipped and was on her way to fixing herself up. Luckie seems to be everyone’s friend and stays out of drama, a queen we stan !
Deloris “Delay” Frimpong Manso
Say what you want about her, but Delay is the perfect example of an excellent branding experience. She went from being known as a very vulgar radio presenter/dj to being a business mogul in such a smooth move.
The “biggest man in the business” has expanded her sources of income from her shoe retail business Smooch to her canned food company that produces Delay Mackerel, Sardines and Spaghetti.
With her sharp interview skills, her show “The Delay Show” where she interviews anybody who is somebody is a joy to watch and is a secret pleasure of many.
Menaye Donkor Muntari
The former beauty queen and model is now a business entrepreneur and wife of Ghanaian professional footballer Sulley Muntari. In 2004, Menaye won a beauty queen title and this enabled her to lead a jet set life and bagging an ambassadorial deal with Printex.
Now that her modeling career is on a hold, she has so far developed and founded a luxury skin care brand SHE-Y by Menaye which uses ethically-sourced Shea butter from Ghana.
Her brand like many skincare companies has also created job opportunities in the areas where she purchases the sheabutter while a percentage of the sales profit is donated to her Menaye Charity Organization to help educate less fortunate children.
