Two Ministers detained as they await COVID-19 results

Two members of Parliament and ministers of the Republic of Ghana have been confirmed to be detained at the University of Ghana Medical Centre.

Current Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh who is also the MP for the Manhyia South Constituency and Mr. Dan Botwe, the Minister of Regional Reorganisation and Development are both currently awaiting test results after feeling unwell for a few days now.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Education, Dr. Opoku Prempeh after feeling unwell for a couple of days first tested negative for the COVID-19 virus. He then travelled to his constituency for the NPP primaries and upon his return, he went in for a second test with results yet to be known.

Honourable Member of Parliament, Dan Botwe also released a similar statement to inform the general public about his admission at the University of Ghana Medical Centre upon feeling unwell earlier this week.

Ghana’s confirmed cases are now 15, 013 with 3, 840 active cases and 95 deaths confirmed.
