Viewers React To BBC SEX FOR GRADES Scandal

The undercover documentary in West African universities by the BBC African Eye investigation team was released yesterday. On Monday, the nation was abuzz as the trailers of the documentary were released. Ghanaian lecturers were also implicated in the scandal. The documentary was filmed over a year and had a run time of almost an hour.

Academic institutions in West Africa have always faced allegations of sexual harassment of mostly female students by lecturers. This type of abuse has always been an open secret which has never been proven.

One of the implicated Lecturers Professor Ransford Gyampo has vehemently denied all allegations of sexual harassment and claims his next step of action would be to sue the BBC.

Twitter user Kawthar made mention of a notorious lecturer whose wife allegedly know about his actions.

 

Kemi went to the Dean of her faculty for an introductory letter but was instead subjected to tales of the Dean’s conquests and powers.

 

Another comment was about ending the cycle of sexual harassment and abuse of students.

 

Lola also brought awareness to the issue being close to home.

 

 

 

These students were also abused by lecturers who were very well known in ‘the game’.

 

Louisa recounts the first time she suffered sexual abuse at the hands of an administrative officer.
