According to reports, Former Manchester City captain, Vincent Kompany has retired from playing professional football to become the full-time manager of Belgian side, Anderlecht.
The 34-year-old has hung up his boots and has now taken on the full managerial role at the club after first joining the Belgian side in a player-manager role last year.
During his player-manager role, he stepped down from the managerial position and chose to focus on playing after his team suffered a bad start to a season.
Frank Vercauteren later took over as head coach for Anderlecht, but had a fallout with Kompany with the two not sharing the same vision for the club as was reported. Kompany has been made the full-time manager of Anderlecht after Vercauteren left.
Anderlecht is expected to release a statement today at 5pm to address the new development.
Vincent Kompany made over 350 appearances at Manchester City, won four Premier League titles, four League Cups and two FA Cups during his time at the Etihad.
